She received her BFA and MFA from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Baroda, India and received her Ph.D. from India’s National Museum Institute of History of Art and Conservation. Her formal training in Art History combined with visual and performing arts experience has shaped the interdisciplinary nature of her art expression.

Her recent Art shows in 2007 includes International Video Art Festival, Tucson, Arizona, APAture Kearny Street Workshop, San Francisco, CA and Art Believe/Achieve National League of American Pen Women, Hayward City Hall, Hayward CA.

Pallavi’s creative writing is published in numerous National and International Art journals and books including local publishing house, Infinity and ElizaPress.

At present she is serving as a Chairperson of the Arts Advisory Committee of the City of San Ramon, California.

” My art works expresses ‘sense of freedom’ and understanding of the world I live in. It is not a mirror image of life, but an interpretation of my life and circumstances. It is an attempt to listen and convey the marginal/peripheral human perceptions and in the process to be heard and be visible.

The medallions are based on the four seasons depicting moods of life. The works are done on the surface of recycled moving boxes which metaphorically speaks about the transitory nature of life. After all, it’s about my selective memory, constructing and deconstructing my past and present.

Since 1986, I have consciously projected my ideas in a variety of forms and mediums including installations and films. I have no inhibitions regarding any technique and always liked to work in various mediums to achieve a totality of any kind of experience.”
