ADVENTURE RIDE FOR THE ARTS
August 25, 2012
Adventure Ride for the Arts, an annual fundraising and art awareness event to benefit the San Ramon Arts Foundation, is ready to roll on August 25, 2012. Mark Ballock, President, and Terry Cunningham, Treasurer, will be joining their friends for an adventuresome 455 mile bicycle ride; they will explore the beauty of the West Coast’s most majestic national forests and mountain ranges.
The art inspired bicyclists, will begin in Truckee, California and finish in Crater Lake, Oregon, one of America’s unspoiled jewels. They will challenge themselves to ride the “spine” of the Sierra Nevada’s and through the Cascade Mountain ranges, reaching elevations of 8400 feet. The heart pumping terrain will be sweetened by the picture perfect views in Lassen National Park and the melodic sounds of the Pit River, as they cycle beside it. Photographs will be taken, bonds will be strengthened, and the San Ramon Arts Foundation will be promoted, as the adventurers’ ride through small towns that can only be seen from the back roads of America.
Adventure Ride for the Arts benefits the San Ramon Arts Foundation. The foundation provides funding for Summer Concerts in the Park, San Ramon Symphonic Band, San Ramon Youth Orchestra, San Ramon Community Theater, San Ramon Community Chorus, Front Row Theater, Dougherty Valley Performing Art Center, Lindsey Dirkx Brown Gallery, and Art Education in the schools.
The ride is self-funded by the riders, meaning that 100% of your donation will go to the arts in San Ramon. Please go to our website’s donation page http://www.sanramonarts.org/contributions/ and click on the donate button.
