San Ramon Arts Foundation bicycle “Adventure Ride for the
Arts II” from San Ramon to San Diego
650+ miles is well underway departing San Ramon June 29th. Mark Ballock President and Terry Cunningham
Treasurer of the Arts Foundation have been training since the first week of
February together. As of this date, they
have trained 1200 miles and have ridden many of the back roads between Livermore
and Walnut Creek and to the top of Mt.
Diablo. In the initial base training, there were some
learning curves and bruises for Terry , and enough
sore muscles to keep both occupied mentally.
Now they are in the endurance and strength-building phase of training. Typical
rides are consisting of 50 to 60 miles on the weekends and 20 to 25 weekdays
interspersed with hills for strength training.
The purpose of this ride is to raise funds for the San Ramon
Arts Foundation. The Foundation mission is to “Encourage, Support, and Promote
the Arts in the San Ramon
Valley.”
Our goal is to raise $20,000.00 from the ride. We need your help by
logging onto www.sanramonarts.org
and using the PayPal button at the top left of the menu on the home page. You
can make a donation in any amount in support of the arts and the Adventure Ride
for the Arts II. 100% of your donation
will go into our grant fund and be granted back to the art community in the San
Ramon and the surrounding Valley, and art education in our local schools.
There is still time for more riders to join the
adventure. If you enjoy cycling and are physically
fit contact Mark or Terry at info@sanramonarts.org
for more information.
