Linda Yoshizawa.......Printmaker

Linda Yoshizawa’s artwork reflects the mixing of two cultures, Japanese and American. She uses elements from nature for the bases of her images. In her current prints, Linda is exploring a monotype technique using a thin line of printing oil as a resist with water- based ink rolled over it with a brayer. The result is a print with repeating images created in the act of rolling. Some of the prints have been rearranged in a collage. The overall effect evokes the feeling of a landscape but clearly expresses the presence of the artist in a quilt-like composition. Each print is a unique piece of artwork.

Linda received her BA in studio art from Pomona College in Claremont, CA. She studied silkscreen printmaking at the UCLA Extension and produced serigraph editions for several years. She joined the Lafayette Printmaking Workshop in 1997 and has been a member of the Lafayette Gallery since 1999. Her work can also be seen at Valley Art Gallery in Walnut Creek, Danville Fine Art Gallery, and Susan Street Fine Art in Solana Beach, CA. Linda is a member of the California Society of Printmakers.
